Helping pets get a healthy start—because preventive care shouldn’t be out of reach.
At Clowder 9 Ranch, we know that families want to do what is best for their pets, but the cost of even basic veterinary care can add up quickly. Our Healthy Start Program helps remove some of those financial barriers by providing free preventive care for pets owned by community members.
Through scheduled, mobile appointments, we can provide basic wellness assessments*, species-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and vaccine boosters when needed. We can also help eligible families connect with our spay and neuter assistance program, which provides partial or full financial assistance depending on individual circumstances and available funding.
Our goal is simple: help pets stay healthy, help families keep the pets they love, and prevent unwanted litters from adding to already-overwhelmed shelters and rescues. By making basic preventive care easier to access, we hope to give every cat and dog a healthier start—and their families a little more support along the way.
Healthy Start services may include:
Free Feline HCP or Canine DAPP vaccinations
Booster vaccination as necessary or recommended
Basic wellness assessment*
Deworming
Assistance accessing affordable spay or neuter services**
Mobile/home appointments when appropriate
*Healthy Start provides basic preventive wellness services from a trained volunteer at Clowder 9 Ranch, and is not to be construed as veterinary care nor is it a substitute for veterinary diagnosis or treatment. Pets who are ill, injured, or have medical concerns may be referred to a licensed veterinarian for care.
